King size comforter on a queen bed?
Does anyone have a king size comforter on their queen size bed? DH and I are blanket hogs and for the past several months we have been sleeping with our own blanket instead of sharing. I'm about to order a new comforter and duvet cover from PB, and I'm wondering if their more generous sizing proportions will be enough to pacify us, or if I should buy a king size comforter and cover. Our mattress level is standard. We have a sleigh bed, so I don't think it will look bad if the comforter is a little long and drapey, but I don't want it touching the floor either.

I think a king comforter on a queen bed is the only way to go, particulary if you have a blanket hogging DH.
Someone really needs to get on the whole "oversized" king comforter plan bc they would make a killing. I would love it if our king comforter (for our king bed) was 4" longer on each side.
we've taken the King size duvet on the Queen sized matress plunge. Its SO much better. DH is a covers hog.
We got this one from PB, with the shams. It looks great and the flower lines fit perfectly on the Queen size frame.

I think The Company Store sells oversize King comforters.
We switching from a queen duvet to a king for our queen sized bed shortly. I bought a king size quilt and we love the extra space it provides. Plus it looks so much better covering up the sides of the bed more. Our bed frame and extra tall mattress are pretty high so it won't be even close to touching the floor.
On a side note we personally don't like our PB sheets. They haven't held up very well at all compared to our less expensive Kohl's and BB&B sheets. Which is a bummer because I really liked the pattern of them.

Losing it...Without Losing it
I'll be the one person to disagree with everyone. I've taken the plunge and have a King comforter on my Queen sized bed...and practically speaking, it's the best decision I've ever made....however, I do NOT like the way it looks. It looks too big for our bed. Our bed is not especially high, nor do we have one of the over-sized mattresses, so on our style of bed, it falls to ALMOST floor length and just looks weird.
I have no plans on giving it up though.
They do! It's the only place I'd consider buying a comforter if we bought a king-size bed, as a result: http://www.thecompanystore.com/Oversized/comforters-oversized,default,sc.html
