Disposing of old appliances?
We have a microwave we need to dispose of... it is still totally functioning but the handle broke completely off and cannot be glued back on so we replaced it. We called our garbage company and they said that we could drop it off there for a $25 charge! That just seems a little nutty to have to pay that much to GET RID of something!! Is that our only option or do you know of other ideas? Thanks!
Re: Disposing of old appliances?
Unless they've changed things, you have to pay if they pick up and the money goes to the driver, not the mission. We donated our old oven a few years ago and dropped it off ourselves for this reason.
Not sure if they can do anything with a microwave, though. Ours broke last week and we were going to call them ourselves but haven't had chance to yet.
we just had them pick up a few weeks ago, no charge.
