French bulldog owners...

My frenchie is a little over 4 months old. We went to the vet yesterday and he weighs 16.4 lbs. I was shocked and asked if I should cut down on his food and the vet said no. When I looked online it said he should weigh 8-12 lbs. Am I worrying for nothing? Can anyone tell me I'd their frenchie weighed this much at this age?

Our female Frenchie is almost a year old and she is 17lbs. She is on the smaller end, but you definitely seem to have a big boy on your hands.
Does he seem overweight or just larger? I think they are only supposed to be 16-28 lbs total.
