Where to buy cabinets?

I'm thinking about adding some cabinets to our laundry room and was looking for suggestions on where to buy.  I already figure home depot, ikea, etc but was wondering if there are some good local places?  They don't have to be anything fancy since they are just going in our laundry room but it currently has NO storage and needs something.

This is our current laundry room.  It's kind of awkward since the washer and dryer cannot be next to each other based on where the plumbing and gas lines are.

I was looking for something along these lines above the washer and tub

Then a tall, vertical cabinet to put in the corner by the washer for hopefully the broom, steam mop, etc. etc.  So any suggestions ladies?  Thank you!

Are you wanting to look elsewhere from home depot, lowes, Ikea- because you think you want better quality or are you wanting somewhere else because you are looking for lower cost?

I see people giving free cabinets away on craigslist all of the time- if not selling them super cheap. Some nice ones too- when people are upgrading their kitchens

  • I'm not opposed to those places but was just looking for more ideas since admittedly I know nothing about this.  I know some ladies on here have redone their kitchens and figured they might have some good ideas :)

Craigslist is a great idea, thanks!

  • Honestly, I have heard really good things about ikea cabinets...

  • I'm sorry, but I don't have any other suggestions than what you've listed. Ikea cabinets are super easy to install though, so those get my vote.  Craigslist is a good suggestion if you're looking for cheap though.  You could always find something on there and paint it white if it's not quite what you're looking for.

  • We got our kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. TBH we didn't feel like running around pricing out all sorts of different options, we just wanted cabinets and they had some we liked at a reasonable price and they seem like good quality. The hinges and drawer runners are smooth/sturdy, doors/shelves aren't flimsy, etc.

I don't have any other suggestions besides the places already listed.  I've heard good things about Ikea cabinets too.

  • Have you checked out a habitat for humanity store?  They may have some that would work.

I didn't even know they had a store!
