He was a total D-bag.... and actually started the meeting with a 10 minute rant about what a horrible human being and vet my NEW vet was. I told him she was extremely professional and did not bad mouth him and was keeping a hands off approach to this case because of the legal aspects to protect him and now he's dragging her name through the mud... I told him I'd like to tell her what he said, he told me "go for it."
He pretty much went on a rant about how he knew this was FIP, that the drugs didn't contribute, but the new vet's drugs likely did contribute to his death. umm, wtf. the drugs he gave had bold warnings on them!
So.... enlightened new vet of what happened.... who promptly called her lawyer and is filing for slander.
I'm going to file a complaint to the board about the slander/inappropriate use of prescriptions... still debating on small claims.
Re: That didn't go well (meeting with old vet)
I don't understand how he could say that the new vet's drugs contributed to his death when he's denying that drugs played a part in his death?
What a d-bag.

I'm so sorry for all that you have been through. Losing a pet is hard enough; talk about adding salt to the wound.
I would definitely file a claim against his license with the Colorado Board of Veterinary Medicine.
