Not getting along and potty problems...

So it seems like Magic is doing ok with the dogs but he is intimidating Cocoa. Cocoa is soooooooo shy and cowers when Magic comes (except when he's in the crate then he'll growl). Outside on Sunday, Magic and Cocoa got into a growling tussle and Magic "flipped" Cocoa around and it literally scared the pee out of Cocoa. Ever since then, he seems like he's afraid to go outside. Is there anything I can do to help them get along? It seems like a lot of it has to do with Cocoa's shyness and him not having much confidence.

As for the potty problems, I take the boys out and can be out there for 30-45 minutes and they will just sit there. They sometimes get up to sniff but they end up right back at the door. This afternoon, we were gone for about 4 hours and when we came home, we brought all the dogs out. Magic of course went potty no problem. They were all barking at neighbor dogs and carrying on. We let Magic in and took the boys on the long leads for a little walk around the house with them in the lead. We were out for at least 45 mins. Still, nothing. We come inside and I went upstairs to make sure they didn't mess in their crate. I came back down and was getting ready to leave to get dinner and Dapper peed on the floor. DH grabbed him mid squat and put him outside. While he was doing that, Cocoa "marked" the natures miracle bottle right next to where Dapper was. So I grabbed him (I try not to do this since he's scared but I had to stop him) What gives?????  Our house is a very open floor plan and I can't divide off rooms to keep them closer. Their large crate is upstairs and I can't keep carrying it up and down. Any advise? We are supposed to be putting up our fence this weekend so I'm hoping that will help us but what until then?

  • I'm not sure about the growling.

With the accidents, I'd start house training 101 all over again. Tether them to you at all times (I realize this will be tough with two), crate them when you can't watch them. Do you have room for an exercise pen?
