S/O - Bloggers, what are *your* favorite posts (on your own blog...)?
In the post below, JaxD said that she's surprised that some of her personal favorite posts hardly get noticed by her readers, while other posts are really popular.
Link you your own personal favorite posts
*and*
Your most popular/readers favorite posts
I'm really curious how much these differ for you guys...
Re: S/O - Bloggers, what are *your* favorite posts (on your own blog...)?
I've got favorite photos.
Then I've got favorite recipes.
Then I've got favorite written entries.
They are all my children and I will not choose
From Hey To Horses
my fav: crabbies, they hold a special place in my stomach
most popular: crockpot chicken enchilada soup
So Tasty, So Yummy
most Popular: Skinny Pumpkin Latte
My favorite (hard to choose); I was particularly proud of this Vanilla Buttermilk Cake with Strawberry Lemon marmalade Filling
My favorites that I make often are
Sweet & Sour Pork
Shrimp Caprese
The posts that get an insane amount of hits
Chocolate Caramel Doughnut Holes
Mexican Stuffed Shells
OK, then... which are your most popular?
most popular - Coffee Cake Muffins
it's tough to pick a favorite! Here's a recent one - Tres Leches Cake
a savory favorite - Pastitsio
"Like" me on Facebook
haha this is how I feel too.... but my most popular, by far is Chicken Enchiladas
Some recent favorites though are Cornmeal Waffles w/Salsa and Poached Eggs, and Mocha-Frosted Espresso Brownies
Oh and Individual Danish because it was one of the more intimidating recipes I've made, and I was just so excited by how well they turned out.
By far the most popular: Buffalo Chicken Enchiladas
After that:
Most popular: baked egg rolls
I like my earliest blog entries the best for the written portions. I feel like I was wittier back then.
And I get very few comments on most posts so I think they all don't get the love they deserve.
From Hey To Horses
Most popular by a landslide- Cucidati, with crockpot salsa chicken as #2 (what the hell, Pinterest?!)
My favorites are the brigadeiro (I loved the picture and was bummed it didn't get accepted anywhere) and my focaccia post.
Most popular posts:
How To: Shred Chicken
How To: Make Homemade Pizza
Sour Cream Drop Cookies (and one of my favorites)
My favorites, but not so popular:
White chocolate raspberry cheesecake
The best chocolate chip cookies ever
Christmas treet Cinnamon Rolls (our Christmas morning tradition)
My husband thinks you're a rock star for coming up with the chicken shredding tip. He uses that technique all the time to make his Buffalo Chicken Dip.
My most popular post is shredded beef for tacos/enchiladas/etc.
I'm not really sure what my favorite posts are. I liked this post from a LONG time ago about my grandma teaching me how to make plasto (a Greek greens pie).
I also like this post that DH wrote (does that count?) about making me carrot cake cupcakes for my birthday. I guess since we're talking birthdays, we both love this German chocolate cake and DH was finally glad I could make it, lol.
I guess I like this pot roast post, too, because it was delicious but also because it describes my food life growing up.
My faves:
No-Knead Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Maple-Brown Sugar Glaze
Burgers with Gorgonzola and Port-Glazed Onions
Moroccan-Style Lamb and Chickpeas (I liked the photo for this one)
Popular:
Fajita Chicken and Rice Bake
Homemade Sweet Potato Tots
Italian Beef Stew with Gnocchi
My most popular post is these Chocolate Hazelnut Thumbprints. I prefer not to relive that snowstorm though. Heh.
As far as my own favorites, I like posts that I have a strong connection to the story - like this one for overnight steel cut oatmeal after my friend had her baby girl. Or this one for strawberry pineapple pie about how my dad would cheer me up with pie when I was younger.
I also have a soft spot for these ABC Cookies - I had a ton of fun writing that one!
"Nation, I always try to eat locally - in that if something's within arm's reach, I jam it in my mouth." ~Stephen Colbert
My favorites: how to save money on healthy organic food and how to start garden seeds indoors cheaply
Most popular: whole wheat pumpkin bread
Haha I can't take complete credit for it since I found it on Pinterest, but it is seriously a lifesaver! It's funny though, I had a huge spike in traffic on Superbowl Sunday because SO many people were googling "how to shred chicken." (Obviously for buffalo chicken dip!) haha
Most popular by far: Downtown Bakery and Creamery's Donut Muffins (Thanks Pinterest!)
My favorite: The Treats Truck Sugar Dots - I really like the pictures and they are the favorite thing I have made since I started my blog.
There's a big difference between mine!
Most Popular:
Simple, Pan-Roasted Pork Loin Chops
Cheesy Chicken & Rice Bake
Chorizo Mac & Cheese with Crispy Panko Topping
My favorites are posts that I wrote while actually living in Japan (the blog's namesake, which means "delicious" in Japanese). They never get many views because I was very new to blogging. To be honest, I think my blog was better when we were in Japan because I had more interesting things to write about!
Yakiniku - cook your own meat!
Kushi-Katsu - "skewered fried things"
When in Merchant Town, Eat as the Merchants Ate! (a restaurant review)
A Bike Tour Through Kyoto?s Arashiyama District
Levi 4.21.10
I can't pick a personal favorite...I like a lot of things and I've been blogging for 5+ years so...
The most popular, by a landslide, is the Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes. These went viral on Pinterest. Insane.
Favorite: fettuccine alfredo
Popular: crockpot pulled pork
my food blog
Most popular: Coconut Ginger Lime Oatmeal Muffins
Favorite (which was really hard to choose): Lighter Vegetable Quiche
My most popular are chicken taquitos.
Most popular: Bruschetta Chicken Pasta although Parmesan Honey Pork is getting close to moving into first
My favorite is: Jalapeno Popper Chicken Rollatini
Really? It was surprising? Hmm. Maybe other people are just better at predicting what people will like than me!
I go to meetings with Los Angeles Food Bloggers group, and most people said the same thing. A friend of mine who is a pretty "big time" blogger said he is SO embarassed of his highest trafficked post that he wants to take it down! He said he did it 4 years ago and it was a semi-martha stewart rip off but it still gets 1000 hits a day so he left it up.
My biggest trafficked one is Cucumber Cups Stuffed With Spicy Crab, a bunch of other bloggers made them and people STILL make it all the time. and to be honest, they were just OK.
I LOVE my Prosciutto Wrapped Scallops with Mango Sriricha Coulis post, but apparently not too many other people did. It hardly even got pinned!
