Are TRU wood swingsets really that bad?

I've been planning to buy a TRU wooden swingset because they fall in my budget and I have giftcards that'll cover most. It seems like they all have awful reviews. I dont have the  $ for Rainbow and I dont have the means to get 1 from craigslist. Has anyone had a good experience with one? I dont need it to last a lifetime...I'd like to something to last a few years for my 3 year olds. Thanks!

  • I have one that is 10 years old.  We had to reinforce the sides once, but it is still fine.  The wood is not splintering and the plastic parts are all in good shape.  My kids are 6 and 8 now and they rarely use it, but some of their friends still like to use the monkey bars on it.

  • Just answering my own question. If anyone is looking, I just got a TRU cyber special email with 1 day sales on swingsets. I actually ordered a Gorilla one for around $500. I think that's supposed to be a good brand.
