Re: Wednesday randoms
I just got a quick surprise, drive-by visit at work.
H texted me "Hi."
I said "Hi, what's up?"
He said "I can't see you, your blinds are down."
Hehe. He wanted to come check out my new window seat...through the window.
Mol, that's so cute! Did you give him "a little show"?
Hoek, I have 12 days before I have to find that book in a store. We even have a shelf here just for library books so this doesn't happen. Grrrr.
I am with you. They are ruining everything!!
Cappucino is so yummy!
I hate stretchy jeans...I hate jeans. I hate when they get sagging and make that wierd clicky noise.
When L was unemployed, he became enamored with checking out CDs from the library. Then he left for Cali and I received a notice that one of the CDs was not returned. Shortly after he left, I had returned a pile of library stuff and was sure this particular CD was included. Called the library, they took another look and could not find it. Continued receiving threatening notices from the library demanding to be paid the value of the CD. A few days later I was cleaning out the car and miraculously discovered the CD hiding under the passenger seat. Mystery solved.
Ugh, I need to be editing my brief, but am struggling. It is due Tuesday and as freaked out about its inadequacy as I am, it will be so nice to have it off my schedule. Then it will be spring break and I hope to use that time off to get a little caught up with exam prep. We are going to Gatlinburg and I'm really looking forward to sleeping in and getting to spend time with L.
I feel so whiny right now, but everything feels so hard. And then there is the summer job search, which freaks me out more every day, but until this brief is done, I really don't want to spend any more time on that.
I just remembered something a 3L told us during orientation that didn't make any sense to me until right this moment. She said to write down what it is you love about yourself, tuck it away and refer back to it later because you will be made to feel like you are less than nothing and it's important not to lose sight of who you are.
I remember you sharing that with us before.
Gatlinburg should be a nice break. I'm assuming you are staying at a BG resort.
Yay for sleeping in and spending time with L.
We leave for Myrtle Beach in 2 months. I seriously cannot wait. I hope it gets here quickly. That will mean my first semester back to school is behind me. We are taking a 2 hour road trip down to Charleston. I'm looking forward to it.
Yuck, haha!
It must be because yesterday didn't feel like a real work day for you.
DP, I hope you took that advice (I remember that, too), and have that paper to look at.
Mol, Charleston SC?
Yup.
Duh. I was coloring w/ H and reading at the same time, and missed your Myrtle Beach sentence. Of course SC.
I was based out of the decommissioned naval base there for a year. I love Charleston.
It's amazing how they were forecasting for such an ice storm and nothing happened for most of us. I guess that's weather prediction for you.
Awesome!!! Maybe you can give us some recs of what to do/where to eat??
Probably not places to eat: it was a long time ago, now, and most of my favorite places are closed.
As far as places to go: just do the stuff that all the web sites tell you to. You really can't go wrong there. Be sure to go to Battery Park (it's just a park, but you can see a lot from there), and ooh and aah at Fort Sumter. I, and 300 of my friends, re-tarred the roof.
Wendy, that's awesome of your husband to get all that work done!
Star, yay, Noah! And, oh, jeans (and pants in general). I hate when they stretch out and get saggy. But then it seams that when I expect that to happen and subsequently buy pants that are a little more snug, then they don't stretch and I just end up with too tight pants!
GRSP, hope you find the library book.
Molly, that's sweet that your husband stopped by to see your new space!
Diana, I didn't know you were going to Gatlinburg for Spring Break. Fun! That will be a nice get-away. Good luck getting your brief done.
Wop, I saw in yesterday's randoms that you were out of town yesterday and flew in a private jet. Neat! It's so nice to get away from the office very once in awhile.
I am very happy that we did not get the predicted ice storm. My work event went wonderfully. And now my event is over and my boss is also on vacation. And I will be relaxing a bit at work for the rest of the week.
Molly, I'll be anxious to hear about Charleston. Last year, when my mom and I went to Savannah, we came this close to visiting Charleston instead. It sounds like a really neat city.
Speaking of travels, I bought a Living Social Escape deal for a Chicago hotel yesterday. Very excited to be headed there sometime before the voucher expires on April 30.
Wait, what? I'm going to have to go back in time and catch up on this.
Hang in there DP and enjoy Gatlinburg. There's some lovely hiking in the Great Smokies nearby which I'd recommend. :-)
And have fun in Charleston DM!
Yep :-) It was interesting. It wasn't a big jet (5-6 seater) but it was interesting flying private/charter. No going through an airport, no security, no waiting. We pulled up to the hanger, got on, and left! When we landed, there was a car 10 ft away waiting for us. I felt like a celebrity
That sounds really cool.
That is awesome! So jealousE of your private jet experience
Roll out meetings for the upcoming spring garden season. We are a wholesale flower supplier/distribution center to a major grocery retailer in the midwest (can you guess which one
). We are changing the way we do business with a portion of the stores, so we are attending the meetings to pretty much answer questions and provide support to the retailer buyers/coordinators.
Ohhhh... so were you flying on their corporate jet?
