  • I'm thinking of signing up too, byt joining Amazon Mom since its back.  I figure with 20% off diapers, wipes, free shipping, Kindle borrowing library, its got to be close to $80 per year fee...right? haha.
  • If you shop there a lot, it quickly pays for itself. i do a lot of holiday shopping on Amazon and right there, I probably come out ahead. We also just bought an arm chair and ottoman from them -- almost the same item was going to cost $100 if I'd bought it at Ikea, I paid nothing to have it shipping.

  • Is Amazon Prime still free with Amazon Moms?  That's where I got mine.  It was free for a couple of months & as you purchased diapers etc they extended it.  Of course the discount was still 30% at the time -- I still miss that & I'm holding a grudge that they dropped the formula from the program!

  • we paid for prime long before amazon mom - and love it.  The year i got free with amazon mom was a nice bonus for us.  Now we pay again and love it... esp now that i get free books via Kindle being prime, too!
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • Just an FYI - if you have Prime you can share the benefits with up to 4 people. My mom shared her Prime benefits with me (all you need is the person's email address and I think I was asked for my mom's birthday when confirming). It's AWESOME! I love free 2-day shipping.

I just realized this yesterday! I had signed MH up for amazon mom after my 12 months of prime ran out and now i've earned 12 months on his and i keep ordering everything on his acct to get the prime but now i dont have to! I hope they keep the Mom program open for new people for awhile. i saw they shut it down pretty quickly again yesterday but maybe it was just a glitch. i'm pretty bitter the deals arent AS good as they were too, i got SO many people to join and shop there for everything. but, i love the prime benefits too, so when the time comes, i'll probably pay it too.

My BFF and I did this and we split the annual cost ;)

  • For me it's always been worth it. I've been paying for it for at least 6 years. Ever since a package sent to me with their "free supersaver shipping" was left outside my store door and taken. I buy everything on Amazon, even food sometimes. We bought our flat screen tv from there, two Britax carseats. I've saved tons just in tax I would've paid.

Gail can your husband get Kindle books from the free lending library on his device?  I was unclear if my husband could get the same borrowing benefits that I could from being a Prime member, since it said it was only available to the membership holder...but now I see below nesties have shared their Prime memberships with other people too.

  • We also got spoiled by free 2 day shipping, without it, the 1 week wait was too long.
no regrets though, I shop often at amazon (moms club) for diapers, food, wipes etc, Plus if you have a kindle you can borrow books and I just discover you can also stream Movies, TV shows etc. If it wasn't because of hubby and his international movies fascination I would go ahead and cancel Netflix and just stick to amazon streaming

  • This is annoying:

Amazon Mom and Amazon Student members with Amazon Prime shipping benefits and customers receiving a free month of Amazon Prime benefits with Kindle Fire will not be able to share their benefits with additional people. All existing shared household members will continue to receive shipping benefits if the primary member switches to the Amazon Prime shipping benefits offered by one of these programs, however, the primary member will not be able to add or change shared household members if they move to one of these programs.

So I should have joined Prime, added my husband and mom, and then added Amazon Mom.  Because I joined Amazon Mom first, I can't give Prime benefits to to other people?

  • So if I share membership with my MIL can she pay for it using her own credit card and ship to her address?  TIA!

  • How much is it? What is the benefits besides free shipping.

Yes. It just adds the shipping benefit to your account.
