I just received at least 5lbs, probably more, of brussels sprouts from a farm that contacted me through my blog (love that!). I've never really cooked them before (haven't been a fan) but we both like cabbage so I'm giving them another shot.
I have a few recipes I printed out around Thanksgiving: Brussels Sprout Hash with Caramelized Shallots, Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Chanterelles and Cream and Pan-Roasted Brussels Sprout Gratin with Shallots and Rosemary.
Any other suggestions? I think I'm going to need to give some away because it's just too much for us to eat. Any idea how long they'll keep in the fridge? Here's what I got:
ETA: I Googled and found simple directions for blanching and freezing. Excellent. I'll plan to do that later today/sometime this week.

they keep awhile, you could probably blanch and freeze some too.
Cut the sprouts in half and blanch. then we saute some onions, garlic and bacon in a large pan. place the sprouts cut side down on the veggie mix to finish cooking. Add salt and pepper and stir it all up before serving.

I cook them at least once a week. My favorite way is roasting them - toss with olive oil, S&P, roast for 30 min or so on 400, tossing every 10 minutes.

Last time I made them, I quartered them and sliced some mushrooms, sauting them in a good amount of butter with garlic and red pepper flakes. I tossed with pasta and parmesan cheese...GOOD EATING.
