I want to buy a trampoline for our backyard. DD has been asking for one (she has one at daycare). So I plan on buying one with the surrounding net for her bday this year. A few questions: where did you buy yours and how much was it? Is it hard to put together? Are you able to take it apart/store it during the winter?
My main concern is if the trampoline can be stored during winter. I have seen some people's whose nets have gotten damaged from what i'm guessing is weather conditions and I definitely don't want this to happen since I know they cost quite a bit.
Any tips/advice would be great too. TIA!
Re: Trampoline questions
this exactly. They are like the #1 cause of ER visits... beware.
I can't believe a daycare would have one... I have to wonder if their insurance knows about it. That just seems like an insane liability for a daycare.
Oh wow, I didn't realize you had to get them put under your insurance. The daycare is an inhome daycare and there's only 3 kids that go on it and always a provider on there with them. It's kinda sad that society is so litigious these days that you can't just get a trampoline for fun. Guess when I grew up it was a far different time.
we don't have a big one for the backyard, but i recently bought a small indoor one, for exercise for Landon. they have ones specifically made for kids, that has a handle bar the kids can hold while they jump.
it is sad, that's for sure... society has changed so much- but that's just how it is.
I would find out if your DC provider has told her insurance company about it... b/c if your child ever gets injured on it - you might be sh!t out of luck b/c they won't cover an injury on it if they haven't told the company... i'm not even kidding... I really am shocked they have one- and suspect they never told their insurance. On that note I'd make sure they are insured for the daycare as a whole - many don't to try and save money-b ut it's not legal practice that way.
3 kids can hurt each other badly on a trampoline... ask any ER doc.

This!
Laura received on for the holidays and she loves it. She watches the FBB and bounces along to the music.
My SIL is an insurance agent and when we talked about getting one she told us it would be a HUGE problem! So we got her an indoor one instead. She loves it and like PP said, she bounces on it while watcing TV...LOL For soem summer fun we got an inflatable bounce house..cost just as much as trampoline but way more fun IMO...LOL
this is what we have..

Maybe I'll just get her the little one for indoors, although I'm guessing that it will have a preetty limited shelf life cause as she gets bigger she won't want to use that.
Bounce houses for outside don't need to be covered by insurance? Isn't a kid just as likely to get hurt on that?
We can't get a bounce house cause of our dog. I'm sure he'd pop it.
how old is DC? It has an 80lb weight limit. DD is 4.5 and still loves it. My friend has a 6 y/o that still plays with hers.
they aren't as springy as trampolines. Sure- kids can get hurt- but it's not as bad -there is more cushion... no springs (which often cause injuries)... nothing to fall "off".
We have one - it's als nice b/c you set it up/take it down easily and fast- no worries about where to store it.
why your dog?? We have 2 dogs... they don't go in the bounce house.
DD is going to be 4, so I guess maybe she could get at least a couple years out of it. That's "if" she's really into it though. She seems to get easily distracted by the latest and greatest every time she gets something new. Ha!
Our dog likes to bite inflatable type things, so that's why I'm leery of the bounce house. Or when he goes running around in the yard if he accidentally slams into it I fear that his nails could pop it. Are those things made of super strong materials?
