Re: WTF Wednesday..

  • I'll start! My DN lives with my mom. She is to old to have him but she does and he runs all over her. Well, he got in trouble at school (he's 14 almost 15) and now she put him in Fl Virtual School. She found out she can't make him do it, so she wants to bring him to my house so I can make him do the work and teach him. Um, I'm not a teacher nor do I wish to be.

My H is upset because I stay home and DD is at school. He's thinking if your going to be a teacher then really go be a teacher. And he thinks that if my DD knows DN is stitting at my house doing school, she might want to also. (she won't she likes her friends) But, I see his point.  And, I used to help DN with homework, but my mom thought I was to hard on him and she could "handle" it.  Typical Grandma!

I just really have a hard time telling my 67 y/o mother, I can't help her out. So now I'm sitting here with DN, while he is doing World History. Then onto Algerbra.

Is this a temporary thing?  Do you know when he can go back to school?

Last year my nephew got expelled from school for stealing something like 40 ipads from a classroom and try to sell them on the street.  Nice.  Anyway, he was expelled from school for the remainder of the year and had to complete virtual school.  He had to plead his case in front of the school board this past August and beg to get back into school.  Thankfully the school district agreed to let him re-enroll and he no longer goes to virtual school.

I know he had somewhat of a hard time adjusting to being responsible for his own school work (he was only in 8th grade when he was expelled) but he had the fear of God put into him with the threat of going to Juvenile Hall and he has for the most part straightened up, although from time to time he still makes poor decisions (but nothing compared to stealing 40 ipads).

Man, troubled kids are tough.  My nephew is bipolar and sometimes his behavior is so hard to understand.  Hopefully your situation with your nephew will turn for the better.

  • We do not know yet if he will be allowed  back in, But as of now I'm the teacher. My mom had to quit her job, (that financially she should not have) to stay home with him and make sure he is doing his work.

I got it all done today and made him send e-mails to each of his teachers letting them know he did the work and what he needs to work on.
