My 2 cents on spending the $ on girls tea collection

I know its been posted before about spending the money for more expensive stuff. While I dont always think I get my moneys worth out of some brands for little girls, tea collection dresses really pay off. I have 3 dress from last fall/winter that are now tunics that she wears with skinny jeans and its the cutest. So I am happy that I actually get 2 years worth of wear out of something I bought. I am actually going to keep that in mind going forward for next fall/winter and when I pick the shape of the dress so it can be worn again.

In cleaning out the drawers and closets today I have realized I buy WAY too many clothes for my daughter!

I got this one for Bella too and was afraid of fading.  She has worn it only once and I did not put it in the dryer.  I hope that will help a bit.  I hav e to say that overall, I am really liking there clothing.

  • I think it more depends on how hard your kids are on clothes. I buy everything big. Last year when E would've fit fine into 2T I bought 3T and even some 4T. I like the look of bigger stuff on boys anyway. Not ridiculous big, but bigger. E is extremely neat when it comes to food and even play. If he ripped something he'd probably freak out. He's wearing almost all his stuff from last year, this year. I also only dry sweatpants and pj's in the dryer. Everything else gets hung. So, gymboree, gap, old navy, etc all are in great shape.

Some kids are just harder on their clothes.

  • I thought this was going to be about tea sets. I dont even know what tea dresses are.

I loved the 2nd one and never got it for her. I keep waiting to find it on sale someplace for next year.

  • S has 2 tea collection dresses..one she hasn't worn yet and the other was only worn 1x so far so i'm not sure about wash wear..but i do know they're clothes are stinkin' cute!

and i buy WAY TOO MUCH too..no worries..it's all good and fun :)

  • I agree. I still put D in the 18-24 month ones (she's almost 3) with jeans.

I love their styles, colors, etc. I feel they wash well, too.

Oh, and Nordstrom's usually has them on sale.

I don't know if I subconsciously did this and all his clothes are still fitting him cause they were bigger OR if he's just not growing anymore, lol. But I've got shirts that he still wears that are in fine condition that he wore in CA 2 summers ago.

good to know!  thanks!!  I saw some cute boy items I may get for DS but need to try them on him first.

  • I really like tea collection too. The quality is great and the stuff looks nice and unique.  I just hate how slow they ship! for $7 they could've shipped my stuff priority mail.

And for those people who complain about fade, hang dry and you will notice a big difference.

This is so true! L is a sloppy mess most days. I'm LUCKY if I can get the food and dirt stains out of his clothing. I swear he works in a mud pit while he's at preschool! LOL!

I generally spend less on his clothing because he's so abusive with it. He's gotten better over the past year and there isn't as much staining.

For the girls, I spend more money, but that's because the clothing gets passed down from B to E.........so I get at least 2-3 years out of each outfit.......
