moisturizing hair products?

DD1 has curly hair and it has gotten SO dry. I only wash her hair once a week. I've been using Yes to Carrots conditioner and not rinsing it out completely, but her hair is still really dry.

Any suggestions on a good natural shampoo and conditioner for dry/curly hair?

And product that I can put in after? I use Moroccan oil on myself, but I don't want to use all the added fillers in there for DD...maybe plain Argan oil, but I don't know if that would be moisturizing enough? TIA!

Re: moisturizing hair products?

  • I have coarser, wavy, reddish hair and I use Kiss My Face Miss Treated shampoo and Jason 84% Aloe Conditioner.  I use Giovanni shine serum.
  • have you tried conditioning with apple cidar vinegar, and using olive oil as a deep conditioning?

I would bet you could put the vinegar in a bottle with water and use as spray on. ( I would investigate this one a little more though)

  • I have very fine curly hair.  I use baking soda wash and lemon juice rinse (instead of ACV).  But now in the winter, I use Nature's Gate conditioner between those 2 and I let it sit on there for 15+ minutes.

I would skip any shampoo on her.  And just use conditioner only washing method.

I also think my homemade flax seed gel leaves my hair very soft.

The deep conditioning with oils would be good....but not sure how a little one would like that whole process.  :)

check out naturallycurly.com for awesome info on curly hair tips!

  • Kevin Murphy Angel Wash/Angel rinse are fabulous. They aren't labeled as organic, but they are paraben, sulfate, and cruelty-free. Kind of pricey, but absolutely fab.
