Ok, I asked the question about the potatoes the other day, and now I am here to ask about tips for the main course. I really want to do a roast beef, and I have asked around, looked online, everywhere is something different. I know it's ultimately however I want to cook it, but I am a newbie with this kind of meal too.
Any tips on how to prepare and cook a roast beef? I can't remember exactly, but I am pretty sure I bought a rump roast.
Re: Roast Beef
This is my favorite recipe and SO easy.
Roast Beef with Onion Gravy
Before this recipe I was so nervous about making roast beef because I didn't want it to be flavorless or overcooked. This is my stepmom's recipe and she made it every year for my dad's birthday when I was growing up.
This method works like a charm, and has never failed me. A digital probe thermometer is a must-have in the kitchen for properly cooking meats! I use a eye of the round roast, but a I've used rump roasts and top rounds using this recipe as well! A great way to have a nice beef dinner, that doesn't cost a million bucks!
Slow Roasted Beef
I like mine med-rare, I found for 2-3 lbs I cook for 1 hr at 350 and turn off and let sit in there for about 10 more mins. Pull out let rest and prepare for blood. Then Make gravy from the pan drippings.
