Do kids like pull-string pinatas?

There's nowhere to really hang one for my daughter birthday, she really wants to have one though.  It'd probably just be held up by someone tall, so a stick is NOT a good idea. But would a pull string pinata be really lame? I don't think I've ever seen one in action, i don't know if it kinda sucks the fun out of it to not beat it with a stick LOL

Re: Do kids like pull-string pinatas?

  • Remind me how old she is again?  We did one for our summer picnic last year, and it was fine....the kids were like 2-5

  • We had one at RP's party and all the kids had fun with it.

  • She's turning 5, there will be kids ranging from 2-13.
  • You have been to Kieran's parties with the pull string- they like it- the olders ones like the stick, but the strings are fine!

  • Reilly had one at a party on Sunday, they held it like you plan to, when the b day girl pulled on the string (like 3rd person to do it) the mom lost the grip because the kid pulled hard and it fell on her head and she cried. LOL was fine, but ....

yeah the kids like them though

  • The only issue that I saw one time was all the strings were pulled....but the pinata didn't break!  Made for some upset kids! haha - I think it's fine though...the older ones will have to deal if they'd rather hit it.

that happened at a party we went to as well so the dad flipped the thing over and poured the candy on the kids....they LOVED that!!  LOL

  • Depending on their ages I think.  Recently a friend recommended one for my ds's 2nd birthday.  I drove all over town looking for the perfect one yesterday.  I hope they like it.  I think since most of our guests are 2 year olds...they'll find anything amusing..
