midweek + rainy weather = empty Ann Taylor at lunch time. it's a large flagship store too.
I am desperate for better fitting and looking work clothes. I also want a new suit, which isn't as essential.
they have a buy one get one 50% off regular price clothes now.
i'm not interested in sale/clearance items because I am outfitting myself for the coming season, not the last.
everything i picked up - suit with pants and skirt, three tops that could go under or stand alone, some more casual tops - all full price. i'm fine with that.
unfortunately, i'm sort of between sizes so some things work and a lot doesn't.
such a helpful woman was working with me, helping me coordinate and finding sizes and making suggestions. she couldn't locate a cardigan to go with a sleeveless top i loved and have nothing at all to work with it and would not likely wear alone to work. so two colleagues were helping her and they were all stuck on locating a sale cardigan and kept saying that the new one was a better material (won't pill) than the old style but it wasn't on sale.
i kept saying that price wasn't important - fit, style, and coordinating pieces were. and who wouldn't want the better quality one?! i've never flung out the "price is no object" statement when shopping - lol!
they pulled themselves together to get me the new one and it is sweet with the other top under it
so, three tops and a cardi. i'm on my way...
