Another ? for the CDing moms
How many diapers do you have in your rotation? I am trying to figure out a reasonable number. I'm still on the fence if I want to go for cloth.
Re: Another ? for the CDing moms
For the post-newborn stage, we had between 25-30. The number varied, depending on what I was trying and liking.
Once we got an idea of what DS was going through at daycare and we found the type we liked (past the newborn stage), we do about 12-15 fitteds with 8-10 covers for the daytime (total), about 4-5 a day; and have 4 nighttime diapers available (about 2 per night possiblly needed). We do laundry every other day.
Daycare tends to change him on a schedule (2 changes in the morning, 1 before nap, 1 after nap and maybe one more if he's poopy or wet right befor going home) so they almost always use 4-5 a day, where on the weekend, we don't change as often (3-4), so sometimes with weekends, we can push the wash an extra day.

We hang dry anything with PUL and our fleece covers. Everything else has to go in the dryer. We have really hard water so when we hang dry the natural fibers, they're really stiff and scratchy : ( When we get stains or stink and it's sunny outside, I'll dry them in the sun. They're still a little stiff and scratchy but much less than if they're hanging inside.
We're planning on trying some Calgon water softener soon to see if that helps with the mineral build up we're experiencing...
We just toss it all into the dryer on medium.
ETA: All of ours are pockets (mostly BG, but not all).

For the newborn stage, we had 36 prefolds and six covers - dude peed A LOT.
Now, we have about 20 - 15 Thirsties pocket diapers for daycare, a couple Bum Genius AIOs that we put a hemp insert in for nighttime, and some fitteds and covers for when I'm doing laundry. And everything goes in the dryer on delicate. If I had to separate laundry I'd lose my mind..
