I found this a little odd too. I've always kind of been "one of the guys" because I love sports and beer, but I also have some pretty kickass girlfriends who happen to love sports and beer.

I've always wondered about this statement, and the opposite of it--I'd never want to be close to guys, as well.  Why would you write off half the population like that?  I know we all have bad experiences in our past, but that seems like you're closing the door on a whole lot of potentially awesome relationships.

I agree. And I tend to gravitate towards these types of girl friends. Of course I know that not every girl likes to get manicures. I was just saying that I don't have any friends like that. And for the ones that ARE like that, we've drifted apart over the years.

I feel like that attitude is a product of a bad woman-woman relationship - like friendship baggage or something. 

Sort of the same thing as "I don't like girly things."  Well, not all women are girly.  Also, my best friend loves makeup, jewelry, getting her nails done.

I love none of these things.  We're still best friends.  We don't have to go to the nail salon together and get bikini waxes at the same time to understand and appreciate one another.
