It's worth it. Trust me ; )
A little secret (my dad plays with the CSO so I get insider knowledge), shows that don't sell out have tix for sale an hour before curtain at the box office for half off with a student ID!!! I'd call beforehand to be sure it's not sold out (because Wicked is the best show on Broadway right now, it may sell out).
Or... perhaps ask grandparents to chip in to give their grandkids some culture for birthday/Easter/Christmas/Whatever??

It's totally worth it - but I got to see it with free tickets and I have no idea how much my seats would have cost.
