Jbf sale in April?

I've never done one of these - is it worth braving to shop, or is it just too crazy?

Re: Jbf sale in April?

  • I've only done the ones in the Springs, but worth it, IMO.  If you've never gone before, you might be able to go to the pre-sale as a "new parent" and then you'd get better selection.  If you want specific gear you definitely want to be there when it opens on the first day (strollers, etc) and you want to make a beeline directly for those items.  If you're just looking for things like clothes, you could probably wait until the last day when everything is marked down.

I'm thinking when we're done with the swing and bouncers, I'll probably see about becoming a consignor :)

  • I have been to several JBF sales and they all vary.  The Springs sale and the Castle Rock/Douglas County sale were totally worth it but the one up in Westminster wasn't worth the drive at all.  I went with a friend and I don't think we even spent $50 between the two of us.  That being said, we didn't go until Saturday so I don't know if there was a better selection on the previous days but we thought the quality of the clothes was really bad.  Lots of stained, worn out stuff that I wouldn't pay 50 cents for.

The Springs sale had a huge selection even on the last day when almost everything was half off.  The Douglas County sale is also huge and had great stuff left on the half off day.

  • Totally worth it.  I love the JBF sale.  Half off day can be really good, but they are usually down to mostly clothes by then.
