Food Network and celebrity chefs

It seems they all have their own line of food, spices, and kitchen equipment.  I'm such a sucker for it and I was just curious...

Any you love?

Any were you disappointed in?

Love:

Guy Fieri Bourbon Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce So good!!

Giada's Creamy Tomato Sauce

Giada's Whisk

Giada's ceramic casserole with handles

Rick Bayless- Frontera Habanero Lime Salsa

Disappointed:

Mario Batali's Vodka Sauce

Guy's Chipotle Salsa

  • I don't think I've tried any, but Rachel Ray's garbage bowls are hideous.

Ha! Yeah, and pretty ridiculous.  Umm...just use a regular bowl.  Anything to make a buck I suppose :D

  • I had a coupon so we tried Wolfgang Puck's jarred pasta sauce.  It was very watery and disgusting.  We're never buying that stuff again.
  • Our cast iron skillet has Emeril's name on it but All-Clad makes it.  It's been pretty great.

We got a pork rub in a gift basket that is by either Paula Deen or her sons and it's tasty.

I don't have any of it but I think Rachael Ray's casserole dishes are pretty and I like some of the general Food Network serving dishes offered at Kohl's.

And it's not FN but I think pretty much anything from Macy's Martha Stewart line is amazing.

  • I have the Emeril/All-Clad cast iron pan, too, and it's great.  I don't think I've tried anything else.
  • I have Rachael Ray 10 ounce ramekins, and they are great.  I also have RR mopinis (kitchen towel + oven mitts in one), and just set one on fire when reaching in the oven...oops!  They are okay, just a little awkward/bulky.
  • celeb chefs:

I recently won a contest sponsored by Lidia Bastianich - http://iwasborntocook.blogspot.com/2012/02/heres-what-i-got-from-lidia.html

used one stoneware pan so far which was fantastic (and SO easy to clean)...her pasta was good...haven't tried her sauce yet.

I have a MS roasting pan - can't vouch for it since I haven't used it yet but heard great things.

    Emeril's chicken stock is good

can't think of anything else I've tried...

I tried the Frontera Pumpkin Salsa and it was a HUGE disappointment.  Enough that it's stopped me from trying any other flavors, but maybe I'll give this one a try if it's good!
