Stuff to do in Baltimore?
I think DH and I might head up to Baltimore this weekend - embarrassingly we've been here 2.5 years and I have been there ONCE for a Orioles game. Since we are in Northern Silver Spring, we're 30 minutes away - I realized that I may be missing out on all sorts of fun so I want to plan some fun day stuff, maybe late lunch/early dinner - any suggestions?
Re: Stuff to do in Baltimore?
I really like the Walters and the American Visionary Art Museum (be prepared for some really wacky stuff). Have you been to the Inner Harbor? It's touristy, but a nice place to walk around. There's also not a whole lot to see at Fort McHenry, but it has a lot of historical significance and is also a nice walk around.
We like Sabatinos in Little Italy for old school Italian American food. And if you go to the Walters, Brewer's Art is a few blocks up N. Charles.
the geppi museum (which is right by camden yards) is really cool. lots of old movie posters, toys from 1800s to the present. we went with my ILs and everyone loved it.
i did a tour of the ship that is docked right at the inner harbour with my ILs which was also interesting (but DH & i are history geeks so it may not be everyone's cup of tea)
there's a really nice art museum (out by johns hopkins, i think . . . i went when visiting colleges)
we've yet to go to baltimore since we moved here. bad cheeky!!

I love the Visionary Art Museum. They also participate in Bank of America's Museums on Us program, so the first full weekend of every month (which would be this weekend) you can get free admission to participating museums if you have a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card.
Oooh thanks everyone!!
I have never been to the inner harbor - having only been once to Camden Yards - so I was definitely looking forward to that. I had seen the Geppi Museum and the Visionary Art Museum online and they both looked interesting. Great info about the BOA Museum thing - I have a BOA debit/credit card - that would count, right?
Now I'm really excited. Thanks for all the recs ladies!!
Definitely counts - that's how I got in for free. If your H has one with his name on it too, you'll both get in for free.
Ditto Sabatinos in Little Italy
I love the aquarium but it is crowded and expensive on the weekend. Its way cheaper to go Fri evening when it has reduced prices and stays open later.
The science center has a nice imax theater. you dont have to go to the science center in order to just see an imax movie
we see theater at the hippodrome. not sure if there is something available this weekend but we've seen Miss Saigon and Monty Python there.
You should also check the Baltimore Convention Center website and see if there is anything there this weekend. Last weekend was my music conference, a magic the gathering tournament LOL, and an awesome arts and crafts fetival with beautiful art!!!
