Wtf! Only down .8 lbs

I am seriously getting depressed. I have only lost 13 lbs since January and only like 3 lbs in the last 3-4 weeks. I am eating within calorie goal and working out everyday. I have been doing 2 workouts some days. This is so discouraging. Last year at this point I was sown 25 lbs granted the wrong way and hence why I put it back on but this stinks. I am trying to remind myself that this is long term and life so there is no magic date but I feel like all the work is for nothing.

Re: Wtf! Only down .8 lbs

  • It sounds like a very healthy weight loss to me. 1-2 lbs. every week or so is average and it sounds like you will be able to keep  it off at this point. I have also been dieting since January and I am down 9.4 so far. There were a couple weeks I went up a bit and not down as much. Good luck!

  • how much water are you drinking?

    are you taking your vitamin?

are you sure you're eating enough? if you're exercising hard, you have to increase your calories for that.

    are you sleeping enough?

what are you actually eating? just bc you're meeting your caloric goals doesn't mean you're eating the right foods...how much dairy are you getting in? are you getting your oils?

  • If you are working out and building muscle then you wouldnt lose as much weight as you would inches. Did you measure yourself? That means more then the scale. Also you may not be eating enough if you are working out that much. Your body will think you are trying to starve it and hold onto calories just in case it doesnt get anymore. 1-2 pounds a week is something to be proud of, and you admittedly said you lost more last year but it didnt stick. If you are doing what it takes to just lose it slowly you are much more likely to keep it off because the changes arent so drastic. Whenever I seem to be stuck I cut as much sugar, carbs and processed foods out of my diet and I will lose 3 lbs that week.
  • 13 lbs since January is great! Don't be discouraged. Life isn't an episode of the Biggest Loser!! :-) You are doing great.

funny, i'm only down .8 lbs using myfitnesspal too!

Maybe I shouldn't be eating back the calories from my exercise..lol

  • 13 lbs is great, and 1lb a week, especially when you're working out hard is great. you're replacing the fat with muscle, soon you'll see the results in the mirror and when putting on clothes. the scale doesn't distinguish the difference. think in inches instead of weight. don't be discouraged!! keep at it, you're doing really well!
