Aruba vs. Curacao vs. Grand Cayman
We got it narrowed down to these 3 last night and are planning on making a final decision this weekend.
We're celebrating our 5 year anniversary and want to relax on a nice beach. Good snorkeling/scuba is important and we'd like enough things to do to break up the beach days (H is also a history buff). We don't want anything crazy busy and are not looking for lots of nightlife. We plan on staying about 8 days.
Any advice, feedback, etc. is appreciated!
Re: Aruba vs. Curacao vs. Grand Cayman
We did Aruba for our honeymoon, I cannot comment on the other locations.
Aruba wasn't my favorite island, but it certainly wasn't my least favorite. The snorkeling was only ehh on Aruba. I found the best beach for snorkeling was Baby Beach...that was my favorite of the beaches on the island - the major down fall is that part of the scenery includes an oil refinery..seriously.
Our favorite part of the trip was renting a Jeep and off-roading to see the other half of the island (wishing rock garden, natural pool, natural bridge (fallen), the caves, the lighthouse, the rock formations and the alto vista chapel). More natural wonders than history.
Hope that helps a bit!
