Need quick cleaning tips for wood floors
I now have a crawler in the house and I'm really noticing how quickly my floors get dirty. I have a cleaning service come once a month to do all the deep cleaning, but I really need to wash my floors more regularly and I find it takes FOREVER! What are some good tips for cleaning hardwood floors quickly. We don't have a huge space, but I find sweeping, then mopping, and waiting for it to dry is a huge affair.
Re: Need quick cleaning tips for wood floors
How wet are you leaving your floors that it takes them so long to dry? Wood floors should dry in a matter of minutes, unless you're using too much water.
Try using a microfiber mop. Microfiber holds a ton of water, which means there'll be less left on your floors, which means it takes less time to dry.
I use a sweep the floor. Then mop with water/vinegar or water/dishsoap and a microfiber mop. The floors are dry within 2 minutes. My floorplan is a big circle... I start in the dining room, work my way around and by the time I'm back in the dining room, the floors are bone dry.

I vacuum really quick. (We have a $15 stick vacuum without a brush.) It takes 10 minutes. Then I get my microfiber swiffer thingy. I have a spray bottle with murphy's oil soap mixed with water. I spray that down and swiffer it up. Super quick. Takes 15 minutes to do the whole thing.
PS~ I have a 900 square foot house.

We just put down laminate flooring. We sweep the floor and then use a microfiber pad (Rubbermaid Reveal is what we just purchased) and some Murphy's cleaner. So far so good! It dries pretty quick!

Swiffer or Shark, I would love a shark and maybe will get it for my birthday present
Yeah, if they're that wet, you're definitely using too much liquid, whatever liquid you're using. I swiffer with a dry pad then put a clean one down and spray the floors with pledge hardwood cleaner and swiffer again. Doesn't take too long, and I love pledge.

This is what I buy, but I put it in a spray bottle because that bottle just squirts a big old glob of cleaner. The spray bottle gets it more evenly distributed.
