How do you wash your floors?

Now that Baby Rome is crawling I really need to wash my floors more regularly, maybe once a week or more. But I hate it. A cleaning service comes once a month to do the deep cleaning, but for day to day cleanliness I could use some tips to make the process quicker. We have hardwoods, if that makes a difference.

Re: How do you wash your floors?

  • I use a reusasble swiffer mop-like device with method's floor+surface in a squirt bottle.

It works good for getting up everyday dirt, but not really serious stuck-on pieces of carrots from last night's dinner, if you know what i mean.

  • I vacuum, swiffer and then use the steam mop.

Usually just vacuuming gets up a ton - but I still have to swiffer 2 or 3 times a week.  I only mop once a week.

I do this every 3 days and vacuum everything once a week.  Then I do a really good, hands and knees deep clean on hard surfaces once a month.

  • We swiffer and vacuum as needed. Our cleaning service comes every 2 weeks and they do a much better job than I do!

This. Minus the cleaning service. We went through a metric ton of Swiffer wet cloths when C was crawling.

  • We vacuum the floors once a week and then swiffer once a week (different days).  Every once in a while i'll pull out the steam mop but I find it doesn't work that well.
