Hi All,
I'm new to this board so thanks in advance for any help! My sisters and I are planning a surprise 30th birthday party for our good friend. The party will be at my sister's house (not big) with some yard space and will be very casual. The birthday girl has a ton of friends, we will probably have 75 or so people in and out all day. We will have kegs and do some grilling and are trying to keep the party fairly low budget. We'll ask our friends to all bring something as well (food and/or liquor) All of that being said, I want there to be something special to set this party apart from our typical backyard get togethers. I'm thinking some sort of theme and asking people to dress up, or maybe something like a photo both, that I'd be willing to throw a little bit of money at. Any and all ideas very welcomed!!!!
Re: Planning a 30th Birthday party!
For a girl I love the 30 Flirty and Thriving Theme.
Blow up a good picture from her youth and have it hanging on the door or at the gift table. Costco does huge picture boards for $25. Glue a feather boa around the edge to frame it.
You can have a couple of vignettes set up around the party to go along with the theme:
~A Photo Shoot area. Hang a sheet in a corner or against a wall with a ton of props: Pom Pom's, Sunglasses, Lip and mustache cut outs...This site has the best cutouts.
~Have a candy bar with her favorite candies from her childhood with cutouts from TigerBeat and BOP.
~Cupcake/Dessert Table; I love this simple chain link background for a cake table.
I love photobooths! For a surprise party I threw for my husband I made masks of his face for everyone to wear when he walked in - they were a huge hit!
