How can fat make so many foods taste so good and have the complete opposite effect on hamburger?
I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the hamburgers I made last night.. they just tasted off and not so great.
Kind of like super bland mushy meatloaf.
Figured it out this morning: my mom had purchased 80% ground beef.
Side note.. I didn't realize you could even get that. We typically get like 93% or 97%.. I can't remember which.
Re: Blech, Fat
Gross. I know exactly what you're talking about. If you're not using it for something you can drain all the fat out of (and really, even if you are), 80% is no bueno.
what a let down.
If fat isn't tasting good, then it is useless!
I don't think I've ever bought anything with more fat than the 93%. That's a whole lot of fat, ick.
