I can't believe no one has posted anything about Davy Jones dying yesterday! Am I the only "oldie" on here who remembers him? The Monkees was a funny TV show, and they were doing music videos before MTV! I have a CD of the Monkees Greatest Hits..... they put out some good songs! He was still a very good looking guy too!....LOL

Re: Davy Jones
No you are not the only one. I know there was a post with numerous responses on the P&CE board, so probably people saw it over there. So sad.
On Kelly Live this morning they had some interesting things about the Monkees. Jimi Hendrix was an opening act for Monkees in 1967. Monkees sold more albums in 1967 then the Beatles and Stones combined. Steven Stills tried out to be a Monkee.
I was surprised when they said on the news that he was a former jockey before he became a monkee.
he really was a cutie.
The Monkees were a favorite of mine growing up too. Well, maybe not THEM, but re-runs of their show was! I was all about the singing and entertainment combined, and no, they weren't hard on the eyes--even little girls can see that! I was a sucker for all that stuff and unabashedly can sing more than one of their songs.

This. I was a fan of the Monkees and was very sad to hear of Davy's passing yesterday.
Finally! I'm back on the nest (its been out since 1130a-ish)...
I was devistated when I heard the news. He was the cutest lil' guy. Some say he was a jockey, I say, no...he was a Monkee.
