Hello,
I've been a lurker for a while but now that we are close to closing on our new home, I have been researching and deciding on renovations and such and wanted to get some ideas...
We bought an old home with tons of charm, but I want to updated it so it doesn't have the same old drab look that the previous owners loved - beige, beige and more beige - everywhere!
It has a cute dining room - decent size that currently has a chair rail and the wall above the chair rail is painted a lighter shade of beige than below the chair rail. I want this room to have some personality and thought it might be fun to do some wall paper (not your gradmother's wallpaper but something more modern) on the wall above the chair rail and just paint a solid color below the chair rail.
Has anyone see any fun but tasteful ideas with wallpaper that would be similar? Has anyone used paintable wallpaper?
Thanks!
Re: Wallpaper
I love wallpaper, although admittedly my taste tends towards the grandma. These are some great sites for historical wallpaper, many are graphic though and might work for you. I have personally used all of these.

Historic Style (This is where I got my anaglypta, which is paintable wallpaper.)
And Old House Interiors has a list of recommended vendors.
Thanks for the suggestions!
My grandmother's wallpaper was hideous, but I'm a big fan of the stuff my great-grandmother probably had around.
