A Good FB Thing!

My Dad Type is on FB and generally only uses it to look at photos. He rarely comments or even 'likes' stuff. He typically will just say "I saw the picture of XYZ on the computer! That looked like fun!"

The other day I'd messaged him asking for a recipe and we started using the chat.. slowly.. he's a one finger typer. But it was nice to catch up since we are not fans of talking on the telephone and live four hours away.

I just got a letter in the mail saying (in part) "I enjoyed 'visiting' with you on Facebook the other night. That's the first time I've ever tried that."

It made me giggle.

Re: A Good FB Thing!

  • That was nice of him!
  • Aww, that's so cute.

I also do not enjoy talking on the phone.

My dad had a FB when I first joined but he has since deleted it.  He says he "didn't need it" since mom tells him all the updates anyway.     haha

  • That's cute. It reminds me of the first time my dad texted me. I got a message from the Alaska area code that said "Guess who" and was extremely creeped out. About five minutes later I got "sorry  it's dad. call me". He intended to write out a full text and accidentally sent it. I don't think he's tried since, haha.

Ha! I just recently got him to use an ATM card and a drive thru at a fast food restaurant.

Cell phone might still take a while.
