Is it too soon too discuss Easter Basket Fillers?

Non-candy?

I keep seeing things but then I dont write them down and now I cant remember what I saw!!

Costco has an Angry Birds hooded towel my son would love for the beach and they also have cool water shooters. He is also getting into doing leggo sets

Oh and I want to get my nieces and nephews & my kids the Slushy Cups from TV, they will all go nuts!

My mom is doing bathing suits and rash guards with hats

Aside from that I cant remember what store I was in, when I thought "oh I want to get that for their baskets"  grrr!

I used to get jelly beans and chocolate bunny, damn my kids have it good

  • As far as I'm concerned, it's Lent - not too early. ;)

My kids usually get a book and a couple of toys - cars, trains, stickers, legos, etc.  I also throw in a few necessities like chapstick, toothbrush, snacks, etc.

  • I get them 1 or 2 things totally under $20 and they get candy which we all eat. We dont "do" Easter up in a big way really.

  • I am getting them beach toys and DD will also get 3D chalk set
  • Actually just realized Ryan WILL be getting a Mongoose bike he wants since its his b day. He is 8 OUCH!

  • I am just about done with the fillers...pj's, sunglasses, books, trains, cars, licensed t shirts

I didnt used to either, but with a Dec. Birthday my daughter doesnt get any fun outside stuff at X-mas or for her birthday so I try to get stuff like that for her for Easter and from there is snow balls. Also we have 2 sets of grandparents and aunts and uncles who get them stuff so if I dont give some non-candy ideas my brother would show up with a 20 lb chocolate bunny. I would rather have some barnes and noble gift cards :)

  • Makes sense its just growing up it wasnt a big deal and we haventmade it one either. Its also always on or close to Ryan's b day so ....why bother :-)
  • I know I am in the Nestie minority here but we do small basket with jelly beans and a chocolate bunny.  The kids already get monstrous amounts of gifts and $$$ from my MIL. She goes way overboard and they really do not need anything else, IMO.

  • Not too soon! It's all over the stores and better to buy early so you get your pick. I like to get them buckets with shovels as their "baskets" and fill them up. This year, they will get chocolate/candy, bubbles and a small toy (my son will get one of those $5 lego bags, and my daughter probably something Dora related).

  • we pretty much do small baskets with candy. But I think I'll make these since M loses interest in candy and S is young. http://alittleofthis---alittleofthat.blogspot.com/2011/04/easy-easter-snack-idea.html

In the past we hid eggs with toys instead of with Candy (whatever pre-made ones I find: Little People, playdoh, etc).
