Who does the cooking at your house?
Are you the cook? Is your husband? Do you share the cooking?
My husband does all the cooking, and I do some occasional baking. He is an excellent cook, loves to try put new recipes, and I never liked cooking that much. So it works for us. What's your system?

Re: Who does the cooking at your house?
I think I got a reply to work?!?!?!
To answer the question we share the cooking. DH often comes in and takes over a recipe or meal that I started. I love cooking together. Mostly I do weeknights because I get home first, but that varies. We usually pick a new recipe to try on the weekends too.
My Food Blog
Same here. Well, it's more like 90% of the cleaning, but the 10% DH does is just a tease.
my food blog
I do 99% of the cooking, DH does any grilling needed in the summer.
I usually ask DH to clean after I cook. I really try to do as much cleaning as I can when I'm cooking so I don't leave the kitchen a disaster zone.
This is me too....he does grill if that counts as cooking.
I do 99% of the planning and shopping and probably about 60% of the cooking. My husband's work schedule (college coach) is pretty crazy so he's rarely home to cook dinner. But my schedule can be kind of nuts as well (event planner) so when I'm not around he's completely capable of (and wonderful at!) cooking dinner.
We really love to cook together but our schedules rarely allow for that.
Basically I plan and shop and whoever is home first starts dinner.

Like putting dishes in the dishwasher, but not wiping down counters and such, and getting annoyed when you have to come back to finish it?
Haha, exactly. And he won't hand wash anything.
But someone reminded me, DH does grill. He isn't good at it, but I have hopes that he'll learn eventually.

i do most-he does some. Mainly he'll cook if he's home and i have a meeting later than night etc.. so i get home from work and dinner's ready. sweetie
and i'll add-he cleans up everything when we're finished eating if i cook.
I'm trying to teach mine to grill too. When things turn out, I compliment him, and then he says he just did what I told him.
Or emptying the dishwasher, but then leaving the dirty dishes in the sink for ME to put in the now-empty dishwasher. And then adding new dirty things to the sink instead of putting them directly in the dishwasher.
Or when I pull out the vacuum (we have mostly tile and hw floors so there is little vacuuming to do), and he'll offer to do it for me. He does the stairs and then starts putting the vacuum away. I have to tell him to stop so I can do the rest of the vacuuming (closet and area rugs). He acts annoyed and then does them. Every. single. time.
Or cleaning the dishes after I'm done cooking, but only doing about half of them. I have to go back later to do the rest. He also loves to leave the non-stick pan in the sink because "it needs to soak." Dude, it's non-stick. The scrub brush will take that right off - just do it!

Gotta love the "it needs to soak" excuse! Sure, some things do need to soak, but not for hours!

Ha, I always use the 'need to soak' excuse so DH probably feels this way much of the time.

I'd say I do 75% of the cooking, but he does most of the cleaning (he also does all of the laundry, but that's a different question lol).
We like to cook together, actually, so I usually make him my sous chef and have him chop stuff as I do the rest of the cooking.
We both do the cooking. Usually on weeknights, I get home first so get everything going and DH will do the cleanup. We like to cook together when time allows.
I do all the planning and list making. We usually alternate the grocery shopping.
Me, me and me. DH will cook once every 2-3 weeks, if I lay out the recipe and walk him through step-by-step.
He works in a kitchen during college, but once I started cooking he just stepped back. He says he is not intimidated since I make such great stuff.

I do all the cooking by choice. I like it as stress relief and DH has trouble boiling water.
We share in the cleaning. Sometimes he does the dishes if I'm busy, otherwise we do them together. I wipe down counters, he takes out the trash. He vacuums, I do laundry, etc. etc. etc.
If you never liked cooking that much, why are you on a cooking board? I kid, I kid.
It's pretty 50/50 in our house. We really enjoy cooking together. Unless it's summer, then dh handles the grilling, and I handle the sides

Cause I'm a foodie! I love delicious food, and I love that my husband makes it for me, but I don't like to cook! I like searching out new recipes, particularly those that are spicy and have a bit of kick to them. Yum.
I do most of the cooking - but I should given that's my background. He does all the grilling. It cracks me up as he seems to think I can cook everything imaginable except on grill? I use it to my advantage. Some days (usually in the summer) when I just don't want to cook, I'll recommend a meal that happens to be completely done on the grill.
I have to do all the prep work, regardless, though. However, he is KING of good enough, super fast meals for those late weekdays when neither of us have time to cook and we don't have any leftovers.
And he does some cleaning. He'll load or unload the dishwasher, and he'll wipe down counters and vacuum, but he will not wash a dish. I feel like I probably do more of the kitchen cleaning, but he definitely does help, too.
I'm pretty happy - he does far more than 50% of vacuuming and laundry, though!
