Is one of the worst smells EVER!! Ugh, I even turned on the vent over the stove, opened up the back door for ventilation 10minutes, sprayed Lysol, & lit candles, & the house *still* reeks!! & I didn't even burn the bag that bad!!
& also, burnt popcorn tastes like cigarettes!!

Re: NPR: burnt popcorn
If it makes you feel any better, my H set the stove on fire (we're taking flames!) two nights ago. He then panicked, said "I don't know what to do! You take care of it!" and ran in the living room....
Typical man. I saved the day.
I wanted to respond to this all night last night, but had issues posting....it's been driving me crazy.
BURNT POPCORN IS DISGUSTING.
That's really all I wanted to say. lol
I only like movie theater popcorn, though. As in, from the theater, not those crap boxes you can buy and pop that are labeled "movie theater" but are so definitely not the same.
I am very serious about popcorn.
Snow!

I like day-old movie theater popcorn. I'll go the bring your own bucket deals, see a movie and not eat the pop corn just to save it for the next day.
I also like pan popped pop corn and I use the left over bacon drippings instead of oil or butter.
Burnt popcorn is awful for 2 reasons:
1) The smell
2) It's such a waste of perfectly good popcorn. Crime upon man and nature.
I looooooooooooooooooove slightly burned popcorn. LOVE IT. Where it's just a TINY bit grayish (but not charred black). I know, I'm a weirdo.
But, DH hates the smell so I can't have it very often.
If I can't have any though I hate being around the smell.
