what to put in a window box?
This is my first spring owning my own home & before that I lived in the city.
Needless to say, I have no idea what to put in my little window boxes. There are a bunch already set up around the house, but I need some tips on what to put in them. Also, how often should I water them given they don't get watered naturally by the rain?
Re: what to put in a window box?
do they get full sun or full shade or a bit of both?
you'll need to water them regularly, especially if you have hot summers.

In spring, I always put lots of different color pansies/viola. Best thing is that they re-seed and come back from year to year and are cold hearty so you can plant them early and they last until it gets hot.
Summer I'd put portulaca and vinca. Ours got a lot of sun and loved them because they were very tolerant. The portulaca would also come back year to year.
Thanks For sharing the information. In the summer also eat Ice and cold.
