Random Friday Thoughts

When I was younger, my dad would have sports radio or the oldies channel on in the car.  I always wondered when the day would come that the oldies channel played stuff that came out in my lifetime.

Well, it finally happened yesterday when I was browsing channels and came across the oldies station playing MJ's "Beat It"

This morning I caught them playing MJ's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'"

Re: Random Friday Thoughts

  • That's funny! I have always wondered that too.

  • I have a random question. . . what is going on with the Nest and these National Nest Boards, etc? I'm a little lost.

  • They are in the process of "updating" the board formats so all boards (knot, nest, bump) will look/behave the same.  They have started the roll-out on thenest by using the local boards (theknot has had the new format for a while now).  All the boards will eventually have the new look (which sucks IMO, but we say that with every change).

I strongly dislike the constant reminder of the title of the post that's at the top of each reply.  It's a nesting-at-work buzzkill.

  • And now I feel old too!
  • Every time there is a post like the one below about division of cooking/cleaning duties I end up feeling super guilty.  DH does 85% of the cleaning and probably 50% of the cooking.

Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!! my read shelf:
Alison's book recommendations, favorite quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • I'm skeptical when I get Groupon photography offers. It seems now so many people set up these little photography businesses but they are not really professional photographers. Today, I got the best one yet. The photography company was called Hit or Miss Photography. That instills TONS of confidence in their ability!

  • I'm stumped about what I should wear to work on Monday. You see, Monday kicks off our campus wide faculty/staff campaign (that our office runs). We are required to wear our campaign t-shirts (which I love and have no problem with). The t-shirts are just that, orange cotton t-shirts. We are absolutely not allowed to wear jeans. Ever. Or khakis. Or anything other than dress pants/suits/skirts really. So...I pair this t-shirt with...black dress pants? WTF? And all of my dress pants are hemmed to be worn with my heels so that means I'll be wearing my normal dress pants, normal heels and a t-shirt? Ugh, ok..
