Confessions

Confession time.

I went to check out state refund satus this morning and I have a 3rd party debt/garnishment against me for some reason. Supposed to be getting a letter in the mail. Lets see what this says. This kind of throws a wrench into some things. Was going to get a major bill paid off. Ugh. Ok I'm done.

Re: Confessions

  • That sucks - I hope whatever it is is no big deal.

I still have not unpacked my suitcase from Mexico, and we got back on Jan 17th.  I think it's partially because I know it annoys the shiit out of my husband, but I tell him it's because I have no need for my summer clothes at this point in time.

I'm really sorry, that has to be so frustrating! I hope things turn around soon and you find a match.

I guess my confession is that I'm thinking of selling my wedding dress. I either need to sell it or preserve it and put it in a box. It was $1600 new and I feel like I could maybe get 1/2 of that for it on CL? You think, or is that too optimistic?

    Any takers?

...oops. At least you're comfy! Did you have to go home and change, or do you just get to be the only one today? Lol.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing lately.  I love my dress so it's hard to part with it, but I keep thinking I'll never wear it again and we might as well get some money out of it.

Maybe I'm naive, but I think you could try to get more than half price for your dress if it's like new.  Also, my experience with CL is that people always try to negotiate prices and things are more likely to sell if you're willing to lower the initial price a bit.  So, if you post it slightly higher then you have wiggle room, if that makes sense.  My thinking is that since it's free to post it's worth a shot.

My confession: I don't remember parts of last night...including how I got to bed.

Good advice. You might consider taking it to a bridal consignment shop if selling it online doesn't work. I've had a dress (from previous engagement) posted since September. I've only had one actual hit (and she found another dress the day after her first email). I will be taking it to a consignment shop when I find time.

Although, my dress is an inexpensive, simple dress from David's bridal. You might have better luck with your dress.

  • My confession:

We're getting more money back from taxes than expected which is great, but I keep thinking of ways I'd like to spend it.

Also, I can't stop reading people's blogs about their RTW trips.  I want to sell all of my shiit, take a year long sabbatical, and travel the world.

  • I need to save my money (and have been!), but I ended up getting a tax return and I think I'm going to splurge a little with it. So, I'm going to check steepandcheap.com all freakin' day to try and get good deals on fun outdoor stuff!

I forgot about consignment shops which is also a good idea.  I took some prom dresses to one and had success with a couple.  Although the shop kept a small percentage, I was pretty pleased with how much I got and not having to deal with selling them was nice.

Thanks! My dress is an Oleg Cassini from David's Bridal. It's this dress, but obviously in a bigger size.

  • My confession is that I gave up chocolate for Lent, but there are homemade peanut butter eggs in our breakroom and I want one sooooo bad :(

Everytime I go in there to get a drink I swear they're staring at me and calling eat me, eat me.  Must.be.strong.  Only like 31 days to go, sigh...

    That dess is beautiful.  Wow!

  • I hate it when people bring me the stuff I printed from the copy room to my office. I realize they are trying to be helpful, and save me a trip, so I'm never ugly, but it doesn't save me a trip. I have to white out dates at the bottom of everything I print, then make another copy. I like to do a ton of case notes, then go to the copy room and fix them all at once. When somebody brings each one to me, it interrupts my work a million times. AND, I have a box in the copy room, if they are in someone's way or something.

  • My confession:

Dh and I work different schedules.  He usually at work when I get home and alseep when I leave, but we got to bed at the same time.  I get angry when I come home, clean the kitchen spotless, load the dishwasher, ect and the next day it is a disaster again.  All I want to do is come home, exercise and make dinner, but I have to clean my entire kitchen again to do anything.

I just started cooking dinner again.  I stopped cooking a big dinner in the evening for both of us because of this.

I hate this too. DH leaves evreything everywhere and doesnt seem to find its way to the kitchen. If it does he wont clean it up, it's like he would rather live in a frat house than to clean it up.

I'd be happy to simply let you know what it looks like to everyone else:

"Hi, I'm Charity. I don't care enough about myself or others to take three seconds to use proper English.. even though people have expressed to me many times that it would greatly improve my quality of life."
