Easy ways to increase fiber intake daily?
I know I need to increase my fiber intake. I've been eating spinach salads more often, include 1 Tbsp flaxseed in my greek yogurt....
Other than eating more whole fruits & veg, are there any other options?
Re: Easy ways to increase fiber intake daily?
Beans, wild rice, brown rice, oatmeal, and the fruits and veggies you are already eating. I also add benefiber to my breakfast and dinner (either in the drinks or sauces). I have crohns, so if I don't eat at least 35-40 grams of fiber a day (hard to do when I'm flaring) then I suffer!
Good luck!
I swear by Benefiber.
I know naturally occuring fiber is so much better for me but my crazy travel schedule can really jack with my system so Benefiber is my 'don't leave home without it' item.
And yes, the flavor shots are quite good and the flavorless stuff fully disolves in pasta sauce, soup, stirred into yogurt, coffee - anything.
Is your flaxseed ground? That is the best for digestion. I try for 2-3 tblspn a day
Flaxseed wrap: Mix 3 tablespoons ground flaxseed, one egg, dash of onion powder, 1 teaspoon coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of water. Mix well and put in a lightly greased/non stick pie plate. Microwave on high 2-3 minutes and voila a home made wrap that is wheat free and HIGH in fiber! Just add all your fixin's and you have a lunch!
My home office. Joeyzlovieg's hubby made it for me. I love it!
