Family Matters
Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Changes coming to the Nest and Bump

**I apologize for not getting this out sooner, but there were some difficulties posting...from the powers that be...

I?m writing to let you know about some new updates that will be happening on the boards this week. Starting this evening, some of The Nest and The Bump message boards will be on a new platform (it will be very similar to the platform The Knot is on, if you want to go there to check it out!). The local boards will switch first, and then the other boards in the next few weeks.

Here are some of the biggest changes that you can expect:

-Moderators will now only be able to ?moderate? the board that they are assigned to, but they will have more ?powers? on that specific board. These include:

-Mods can edit AND delete posts

-Mods can ban users

-Local boards will have tabs that link to The Knot, The Nest, and The Bump to make visiting local boards on all three sites easier

-Left navigation drop down will include all boards for easy access, but can be minimized if you don?t want to see all boards at once.

-New ?Threads I?m Watching? feature to keep your recently viewed/posted threads available for you.

Things that WILL NOT change:

-Your status and post count will remain the same

-Your profile information will remain the same

-Your post history will remain the same

We think that these changes will hopefully make your job as a moderator easier, particularly in getting rid of spam and handling incidents that require banning
