WTF to my local lunch place

I ordered a greek salad.  My salad arrived (I had it delivered) and there was NO FETA CHEESE on it.  They basically sent me their house salad, which of course is cheaper than the one I ordered.   They had my phone number - why not call and say that you don't have the KEY ingredient in the meal I just ordered?  Angry

  • Wow - how annoying!

  • That would tick me off. I would request a refund.

I would too. I'd be pissed if I ordered a Greek salad and didn't get the feta.

  • Not cool! Did you call to complain? Did they get your order mixed up with someone else's?
  • Greek salad with no feta is just sad.
  • I called and the lady that answered could not answer whether or not they were out of feta cheese today.  I said I had it delivered and she was like "oh I don't do the deliveries, I don't know what happened."  Um, it shouldn't matter if I had it delivered or not!  It's not like a separate kitchen makes the delivery orders.  There's one kitchen, which happens to be right behind you with an cut-out in the wall so you could just turn around and ask the cook standing behind you.  She took my name and number for when the delivery guy gets back.  I'm sure that is going to be super helpful.

They have the best greek salad, too, but I might have to boycott them after this.  Crying

  • Serious dislike.

  • You should call and let them know what happened. I bet dimes to dollars you'll have a free lunch one day next week! What a letdown though...

  • Whether or not they had the feta there, if they gave you a cheaper salad, then they should give you a refund of the difference.

Are they doing anything to make up for the overcharge???

I would be done with them at this point. You shouldn't have to have another conversation etc. etc. This type of lack of customer service kills me. It doesn't matter how it happens or whose fault it is. They can handle that on their end. When you called, they should have apologized and given you a credit, refund or done something. To wait to talk to the delivery guy makes it sound like they have to verify your claim. Very bad customer service.

  • total b.s. - especially for a pregnant woman!
  • I don't think the question is whether or not they were out of cheese. The fact is, they forgot to put it on your order and owe you the courtesy of an apology and refund.

Well, if they are out of cheese, then they didn't forget to put it on my order.  They intentionally left it off my order without telling me.  Of course I think either scenario is equally bad and deserving of something, but I tend to be chickenshiits and avoid confrontation.  It's impressive (to me) that I even called in the first place, haha.

    RIP local lunch place.

I agree.  I used to work customer service and the reply "I don't know, that's not my job/department/shift/etc" just kills me.  How hard is it to say "I don't know if we are out of cheese, let me ask the kitchen" or "I don't know about deliveries, let me ask the driver if there was a mix up".

You deserve a refund and I'd call back and demand one.

Now, the next time you order a greek salad make the point that you paid, but did not recieve one last time. You can and should ask for a break on the price. You shoudl expect to get one. It doesn't take more confrontation than that. When you are clear and firm, people usually respond without issue. It's quite satisfying.

    GL.
