It was hailing like crazy here--Penny was flat on her stomach on the bedroom floor, crying because she was so scared. I put her in a carrier and put her in the bathroom, covered with a blanket. I think that helped.

Jasper and Dakota freak when the smoke alarm goes off, let along a big storm or tornado sirens!
So sorry your little one is so scared... I think you did the best thing with putting her in her kennel, that is supposed to be their "safe spot"
Luckily, with the Great Dane puppy we got last year, we brought him home through a huge thunderstorm and he slept right through it all. The other day we got the storms that are hitting you today (but where I live was the northern portion of the storm, so nothing too crazy here) and he was totally fine about it all rain/thunder/lightening.
