the mother of invention...

...will be my new SN if I decide to quit being thebridesmom someday.lol

This is my latest 'invention'...or rather reinvention.   I wanted a pull of some sort for my photo box storage (to make it easier to pull them out of the stack or off of the shelf) in my studio, and came up with the perfect solution  (sorry for the bad cell phone photo)....

....plastic hole plugs meant to be used with irrigation tubing.

I had over sixty photo boxes that needed them, and I had been consumed with finding a solution.  Every day I woke up with a few knew ideas and more than a few ideas why it wouldn't work (cost was definitely a factor, since there were so many boxes).

I was at Lowes, and decided to explore the store for inspiration.  It took quite a bit of time, and a lot of walking, before I found them.   I spent less than $10 for  the tool to punch the holes, and more than enough plugs for all of my boxes.

The hole plugs have a tapered end that is slightly larger than the hole and the post on the plug, so once you push the plug through it stays put and doesn't pull through.  I tested it with a pretty extreme test on a box that I am not using, just in case it didn't work, but it didn't pull out or tear the box   I used a screwdriver that has removable tips, removed the tips and used the shaft to help install the plugs.  There was a bit of a learning curve, but it was a hand saver for sure.
