My cats don't claw furniture, but they do walk and lay on our sofa a lot, so I'm looking for cat and toddler friendly sofas to replace our old Ikea sectional.
I'm really interested in leather, but I'm worried the cats' claws might poke through or unintentionally scratch the sofa. If you have cats and leather furniture, what have your experiences been? Are there extra durable leathers out there? Is there some other material I should consider?
Brand recommendations would be great!

I've had a leather couch for 10 years and until recently, never had any issues with three cats. I always found it easier to clean the cat hair and no nail marks. However, my old cat, who passed away 10 days ago, got into the habit these past few months, of digging her nails into the couch cushion and pulling herself up. She did this on my bed comforter also and now I had pretty significant damage to both. She did the same thing with vinyl kitchen chairs when she was a kitten.
As long as your cats are healthy and not too old or young, you should be fine. Sorry, can't recommend my brand since I have no clue what it is.
