dessert table for Dr. Seuss themed birthday party

I've posted before about the Seuss party I'm planning for my son's 1st bday in June(at first I had random foods with Seuss names but then tossed out the cute names and stuck with simple and easy to prepare crowd pleasing favorites)

My color scheme is red and aqua blue(like Thing 1 and Thing 2)    For the dessert table, I was going do everything in the color scheme.    But now I'm wondering if I would be better off doing all sorts of Seuss themed desserts.

Green eggs and ham candy(white chocolate circles with a green m&m)

Those rolo pretzel things(sitck a rolo on a small pretzel, throw in the oven for a couple minutes until candy melts and then take out and put a pecan on top)...they could be Yertle's Turtles.....cute things like that.

Fruit salad could be Truffela Fruits(yes we normally do the friut salad as part of the dessert...it's the healthy dessert that everyone takes a small spoonful of to make up for all the sugar they pile on their plate)

We're doing cupcakes instead of a cake(some will have a cat in the hat hat made out of a marshmellow, others will be thing 1 and thing 2 cupcakes with blue cottton candy hair)

What would you do?  Stick with the color scheme or go with the Seuss theme?

Re: dessert table for Dr. Seuss themed birthday party

  • The Dr. Seuss themed desserts are a cute idea. You already have lots of ideas of relating the desserts to the theme. I would go with the Dr. Seuss themed desserts. I bet the adults will enjoy your creativity as well. You can always bring in the color theme with the plates and napkins.
  • I always look for party ideas at this Hostess Blog Website.  I remembered they had this Dr Suess themed party.
