nola

how did the food taste? did you have trouble sticking to their food b/c you were still hungry? i'm looking forward to trying it and getting back on track. training my stomach to be full sooner and stuff. i'm more worried about feeling satisfied after eating, but maybe that's just my own thing i need to learn how to do.

Re: nola

  • I remember thinking the food was ok actually.  Of course I am someone who never really had a problem eating Lean Cuisines or Healthy Choice meals, so these were on par with that.  This was late 2006/early 2007 so the food might have changed some by now.  And my personal eating habits and the types of food I eat now are different so I don't know what I would say NOW about it.  But back then - I had no problem with it.  The only thing I found to be gross was the chocolate.  Bleh!  It was SO not even close to real chocolate, was gritty and had a bad aftertaste.  And I had some biscotti cookies that I never did eat because they were hard as bricks and did nothing to satisfy the sweets cravings I had.  I was worried the scrambled eggs would be gross (they were like freeze dried or whatever I guess? and you just added water and microwaved it) but that was one of my favorite breakfasts and more satisfying than the muffins or cereal - granted at the time I was NOT an egg eater... now I tend to like eggs so I don't know if I would really eat that... it seems really weird.  lol

I don't recall having trouble sticking to the plan.  It was still food, ya know.  I wasn't surviving on shakes or meal bars (which can get old obviously).  I had three meals a day, plus two snacks (so five meals).  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus dessert were all Nutrisystem and one other snack.  I had to add in all my own fresh fruit, dairy, or salads with meals and I felt pretty satisfied.  Totally felt like I was eating enough.  I did allow myself "cheat" days where I ate no NS, or only had a NS breakfast.  I really liked the convenience of it!  I was working full-time at the time so it was easy to grab my meal and throw it into my lunch bag and not have to think about it.  If I ever wasn't satisfied after eating, I drank extra water or green tea.

  • Sweet! Thanks for the feedback! It arrives tomorrow. So we'll see. I don't mind eating those frozen dinners either. I also thought I could always just have some extra salad with me (for work) if I felt like lunch wasn't enough. But I do drink coffee all.day.long so that should help some too. I am not the best with diets but hopefully this is different.
