Can puppies get baby aspirin?
Yesterday Eli went for a check up and more shots. Healthy, clean bill of health.
Today a door shut on his foot. I don't think it closed all the way but he seems to be limping here and there. No crying. He was putting weight on it when he walked.
I just took him out to pee and he was playing and fell over goofing around. He cried more than the first time today and started limping again. Can I give him anything? He's about 12 weeks, 13 lbs and a lab mix. I'd call the vet but they are closed.
Hes walking on it but still seems to limp a bit. I feel so bad.
Re: Can puppies get baby aspirin?
Absolutely do NOT give your dog baby aspirin. It can be toxic.
Call your local emergency vet and ask them what you can safely give your puppy.
My cat was on baby aspirin for his heart, but they said to get non-buffered. I'm not sure if the coating is toxic or if it had to do with absorption. But I wouldn't give it to a puppy (or another cat) without calling the vet.
OP, find an emergency vet in your area you can call on the weekend! Or at least the ASPCA line.
