I'm here off and on. I'm being super lazy tonight and going to just watch some tv or read a book for a while and probably crash early.
For a question (or two)...what made you choose your screen name? And did you do anything fun today?
Well my name is Lucy, and Liubot is the nickname XBF gave me from Futurama. Lucy Liubot. LOL. I thought it was super cute and it was the first nickname a SO ever gave me that wasn't stupid or derogatory in his own way.
Today I started orientation at my new 2nd job. It was lame and boring, but for fun stuff, I signed up to audition for the Voice in NYC on March 11. I'm trying to decide if I'm actually going to do it or not and what songs to pick...eek
I haven't sung (sang?) in years. Since high school but I was all state choir. My voice has gotten raspy in the past years from smoking cigs, but it's still got it in there lol.
I don't even know what I'm good at. I just love music that I can feel in my heart. For some reason I always always always sing Mr. Jones by the Counting Crows bc I can feel the words, and it's upbeat so it's cool. But I'm not really sure what I'm thinking...
I'm scared shitlesslikewoah to do it but I think it would be a fun experience and a trip to NYC that I haven't been to in a few years.
I love Counting Crows!! And for SXSW (a huge music festival this month here in ATX) they are putting on a free show. I'm super excited because I didn't get to any of the free stuff last year - Blue October was the band I really wanted to see last year - and I should be able to make it this year!
Although the audition is scary, good luck! That really is exciting!
I bumped into Adam Duritz once and spilled his beer at a show. LOL. I didn't realize it was him at first b/c he had a hat on but when I saw him I was like "Ohhhh snap!" and he just smiled and winked and walked away.
So rad.
I'm around....laying in bed watching 48 Hours, yup that's as exciting as it gets around here on a Saturday night!
