Hip injuries?

My right hip is officially a problem. It doesn't bother me much during my runs but really hits me about 30 minutes later. Are there common hip injuries for runners?

Re: Hip injuries?

  • I would go talk to your doctor or find a good sports medicine doctor. No one on the internet can diagnose you.
  • Ditto sadlebred.  There are a bunch of things that could be wrong, none of which you want to let go for very long.

  • I agree, although where exactly are you feeling it? If it's up front then it may be your hip flexor. I have over-active hip flexors because of the cardio classes I do, so to help ease them I'm constantly stretching, and I try to switch it up to work the back side and "balance the muscle out" (as my personal trainer puts it in lamen's terms haha) such as doing the stair master or elliptical backwards.
